The Master Trials DLC pack for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild introduces a variety of unique gear designed to aid players in their exploration of Hyrule. Among these additions, the Phantom Armor stands out due to its impressive defensive boost and attack-enhancing properties. Finding all three pieces of this set requires searching through specific ruins strewn across the land using your Magnesis rune.
Locating the Phantom Helmet
To begin your treasure hunt, you must head toward the Central Hyrule region, which houses many ancient structures. The first piece of the set is hidden deep within the dangerous confines of the Colosseum Ruins. You should prepare for a potential skirmish as strong enemies frequently patrol this large amphitheater.
Once inside the grounds, search carefully near the ground levels close to the walls rather than scaling the higher tiers. The metal chest containing the helmet is buried in the dirt along the southeastern section of the arena floor. Utilizing the Magnesis ability will help you quickly highlight the metallic glow of the hidden container.
Finding the Phantom Armor Chest Piece
The torso section of this terrifying armor set can be found at the Sacred Ground Ruins, located directly in front of Hyrule Castle. This historic location is heavily guarded by Guardians, so a stealthy approach or quick reflexes are highly recommended. Adventurers should scout the area thoroughly before attempting to extract the treasure chest.
The chest is submerged in the circular shallow water structure located at the very center of the ruins. Activating your Magnesis tool will allow you to see the chest beneath the surface easily. Once targeted, simply pull the metal container out of the water to claim your prize.
Securing the Phantom Greaves
The final component needed to complete the legendary outfit is hidden at the Hyrule Garrison Ruins, situated southeast of the Central Tower. This sprawling ruined outpost contains numerous scattered walls and remnants of old buildings. Navigating the dilapidated grid can be confusing without keeping a sharp eye on your surroundings.
Look closely near a deactivated, broken Guardian unit sitting in the southeastern portion of the garrison grounds. The treasure container is buried directly underneath the dirt adjacent to this mechanical wreckage. Pull it free with your rune to unite all three powerful elements of the set.
Stats and Tactical Advantages
Equipping the full set transforms Link into a formidable warrior reminiscent of the classic phantoms from past entries. Each separate item provides a base defense rating of eight points, giving you a total of twenty-four defense immediately. Unlike standard equipment, these DLC items cannot be upgraded at the Great Fairy Fountains.
Despite the lack of upgrades, the set remains incredibly valuable due to its built-in attack power bonuses. Every individual piece increases your damage output, allowing you to defeat tough monsters much faster in the early game. Mixing these items with other utility gear can give you an excellent balance between raw power and situational mobility.
